What is JazzAsia?

JazzAsia is a not for profit organisation conceived by Rory Stuart and Munib Madni, with the sole purpose of furthering the appreciation and delivery of jazz in Asia. JazzAsia aims to provide jazz enthusiasts, students and practitioners with opportunities to learn, practice and experience jazz with international jazz performers. JazzAsia's well structured workshops, covering theory, instrumental masterclasses, improvisation, cater to all skill levels, culminating in ensemble public performances from workshop participants.

  • Munib is an aspiring saxophonist, jazz enthusiast, current jazz student and proud father of three. By day, an investment manager responsible for clients across the globe, by night an admirer of the rhythm and sounds of Sonny Rollins and co. Singapore has been home for him for the last 12 years and giving back to Singapore and Asia through Jazz has become a personal goal.

Not wanting the enjoyment of Jazz to become a selfish pursuit, Munib and Rory, along with other like minded Singaporeans have taken on the challenge of contributing to the ever growing appreciation of jazz in Asia.
